Entertainment & Activities

We believe that it is vital to keep our residents mentally and physically stimulated at all times and it is important for us to keep them interested in their surroundings. Our aspiration is for everybody to be involved in interesting and meaningful activities and we will do all we can to help.

Activities will include walking the landscaped gardens and gentle exercise routines for those who are able to participate. We have live music sessions and storytelling. Regular visits by various local groups are also a feature.

Special events such as birthdays, Easter and Christmas are always celebrated. Some residents are also members of the local library and the librarian regularly visits to exchange books

Outdoor Facilities

The secure landscaped garden provides exercise and gentle walks for the residents. A courtyard provides a central focal point, with mature shrubs giving all year round colours.

To the rear of the home residents can also enjoy the lawn and rural scenes of lush green fields and farm animals. The car parking facilities at the front and rear are floodlit providing excellent overall security for the home.

For those interested in sport there is an excellent G.A.A sports pitch immediately opposite the home where Hurling and Camogie matches are played from youth to senior level.

Our full time kitchen staff design menus for three main meals of the day to suit all tastes and cater for special dietary requirements or favourite meals. Menus are devised bearing in mind the nutritional and medical needs of the elderly and also to provide choice and variety. Only prime meat, fish, poultry are used in the preparation of meals, together with a wide range of locally produced fresh vegetables.

Breakfast is served in either the bedroom or the dining room, at the request of the resident. Lunch/Dinner can be served in the privacy of the resident's bedrooms although the dining room provides an opportunity for socialising, and residents usually prefer to dine there.

Snacks and soups are available mid-morning & refreshments are available to residents throughout the day and night.
