The Holy Family Nursing Home in Killimor, Ballinasloe has beaten off stiff competition from hundreds of Irish nursing homes in their bid to go for gold at this year's National Q Mark Awards. The prestigious nomination will see Patrick Fahey, the nursing home's manager and his team, walk the red carpet at this years's Q Mark ceremony, which takes place on September 28 at Dublin's Burlington Hotel. The Holy Family was nominated in one of the most prestigious categories – the national title of Nursing Home of the Year.

Nurse & Resident giving thumbs up

The National Q Mark standard guarantees existing and potential new clients of any Q Mark certified nursing home that they operate what's known as a continuous improvement programme', which simply put, means that 100% of their support systems, processes and procedures are monitored for best practices, 100% of the time. The standard also operates at a higher level than current legislative requirements and all of this information feeds back into a quality of life standard for every resident they take care of.

Holy Family Nursing Home is a purpose-built home with 35 private beds. Established in 2000 by Paddy and Anne Fahey, they and their 35 staff are committed to providing high quality care and treatment to residents, whilst striving to offer as much support as possible to the family and friends of their residents.
